MODATROVA
Modatrova is an online retail space focused on selling smaller, independent brands and emerging designers. Its tasteful curation of women’s apparel, accessories and jewelry is kin to retailers like Moda Operandi, Net-A-Porter, and Matches Fashion.
We had the pleasure of working alongside Modatrova’s founder, Caroline, to style the brand for email marketing. We were in charge of ideating, strategizing, writing, designing, and implementing monthly email campaigns and automations.
In addition, we designed assets for pop-up events, created homepage banners and made email templates for the Modatrova team to use.

EMAIL STRATEGY & GROUNDWORK
To being, we analyzed the brands current email marketing efforts and built out a strategy for email messaging based on the desire to build brand loyalty and sales on this channel, but also to educate the customer about all the new designers, products, and collections hitting the site monthly.
EMAIL DESIGN & BRAND VOICE
Since they had sent only a few emails and had no automations set up, we were in charge of discovering the brands digital aesthetic and voice on this channel. We pulled inspiration from online retailers and independent brands, landing on a newsletter style layout with bold imagery, seasonally rotating colors, editorial fonts, and a voice that was easy-going and approachable.
HOMEPAGE STYLING
After designing Modatrova’s digital style for emails, we moved on to the website. We were in chrage of creating coordinating homepages with strong imagery and bold copy. In addition to styling blocks that spoke to new collection arrivals.
EMAIL TEMPLATES IN CANVA
Finally, after six months of hands on retainer work, we created email newsletter templates in Canva to pass on to the Modatrova team so they could execute more emails on their own and pass the torch to someone internally to handle.

THE RESULTS
We set five new email automations live including a welcome flow, a win back series, a VIP style box invite, an abandoned cart, and SMS welcome flow. Together, all five automations contributed a total of $37k towards revenue within 10 months of conception.
